Furosemide
Furosemide is a fast-acting diuretic with well-defined diuretic effect. Furosemide upsets the reabsorbtion blockade of chlorine and sodium ions in the ascending knee of Henle’s loop. Moreover, it increases the excretion of kalium, magnesium and calcium ions. Diuretic effect of this medication appears in 3-4 minutes after intravenous introduction and continues 1-2 hours, and taking the medicine orally the effect appears in 20-30 minutes and lasts up to 4 hours. Intravenous introduction of Furosemide causes varicose of peripheral veins, reduces preload and blood pressure.
Furosemide is a high-efficiency medication used to treat nephatony, acute left ventricular failure (paroxysmal dyspnea, pulmonary edema), edemas caused by burns, cerebral edema, edema syndrome of different genesis (including those with chronic heart failure of II-III phases, hepatic cirrhosis, portal hypertension syndrome, nephrotic syndrome), artificial diuresis.
